Giving and Fundraising

To our United Community School families and partners:

Charter schools are public schools that receive public funds. The difference between charter schools and traditional public schools is that charter schools ONLY receive funding to operate (i.e. staff salaries, learning materials, utilities, and lease payments), at approximately $.73 on the dollar. As a charter school, UCS does not receive public funds for capital expenses (land, buildings, renovations, classroom furniture, and equipment) which are a significant part of our annual budget. If we received the same capital funds that traditional public schools receive, we would have less need for fundraising.

We ask that you ponder this challenge as a family and set goals for supporting our school financially through school centric fundraisers, personal donations, or any ideas you may have!

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us to achieve our mission at UCS!

Link your Harris Teeter Card:

Have you linked your Harris Teeter VIC Card to the United Community School Together in Education code, #3035? Harris Teeter contributes a percentage of all HT brand purchases to the United Community School TIE account when your VIC card is linked to our school. Here are two easy ways to link your VIC card:

Amazon Smile:

When you shop with Amazon, link your account with Amazon Smile.  That way a percentage of every purchase you make benefits us!  It's a great way for us to earn money without you spending an extra dime.  Connect your account today!  Click on the button on the right to get there quickly.

Collect Box Tops:

We're always collecting Box Tops! Each Box Tops coupon is worth 10¢ and they add up fast! We can use our Box Tops cash to buy whatever we need most, from books to field trips to playground equipment.

We don't even need you to tape them on a collection sheet anymore!  Just cut cleanly, place in a baggie, and drop them in the basket on the foyer table.  We appreciate it!
