Volunteering

Our mission is to UNITE with parents as partners to promote student learning. In The Basic School, a vital partnership is created between the home and school with parents viewed as the child's first and most important teachers. We need and expect your help in educating our students. Parents are expected to complete 36 volunteer hours per school year. A great way for parents to earn hours is to join a committee such as Fundraising or Book Fair. Parents can also earn hours by assisting in special area classes, athletic programs, or chaperoning field trips. Parents may serve in classrooms by facilitating small groups and managing learning stations (centers). They may regularly pair with students, serving as reading buddies, especially for students who need the extra attention to meet grade level expectations.

All on-site volunteers are required to attend Volunteer Training and submit the Volunteer Consent Form to the front office prior to volunteering.

Volunteers who prefer to work from home or off-campus, email us and we will connect you with the right person! If you are interested in volunteering in another way that is not listed, please email us.
